Imovie Imovie 10.13 6

I used a MBP running 10.13.6. Using the newer Mac, sign into the App Store using your Apple ID and download the latest iMovie. This will put it into your purchase history. Then go back to the older Mac running 10.11 and go to the 'Purchased' tab in the App Store—you should see iMovie on the list. Filmora Video Editor for Mac is one of the best iMovie alternative for Mac (macOS 10.13 High Sierra included) and Windows with all the basic editing tools, special effects and more advanced features. It has a more user-friendly interface than iMovie for you to edit video, make movie, adjust audio track, etc. Download iMovie for macOS 10.15.6 or later and enjoy it on your Mac. ‎With a streamlined design and intuitive editing features, iMovie lets you create Hollywood-style trailers and beautiful movies like never before.

If you ever had iMovie 10 on your computer but perhaps deleted it you can sign into the app store, click on your name at the bottom of the app store to open your purchases folder where you will see iMovie 10 listed, and then you can update it from there onto your computer. iMovie will update to the highest version compatible with your computer's High Sierra OS. That would be iMovie 10.1.8 I believe.

Your MacBook Pro running macOS Sierra 10.13.6 will run the current version of iMovie. You can download it from the App Store.

If you still have an older version of iMovie 10 on your Mac, then you would first need to drag it from the applications folder to the trash, but don't empty the trash, and then sign into the app store to update it from the purchases folder per the above. If by chance unsuccessful you can drag your present iMovie app out of the trash and return it to the Applications folder.
